GORA KADAN

In 1930, Imperial Prince Kaninnomiya Kotohito, whose main residence was located in Nagata-cho, Tokyo (Present-day official residence of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Speaker of the House of Councillors), took over the property of Yasuya IWASAKI and built a second residence in Gora, Hakone. After the war, Imperial Prince Haruhito, who took over as head of the family, left the Imperial Family, and this land of Gora was placed in the hands of the founder of Gora Kadan.
In 1989, after a complete renovation, the present “Gora flowerbed” was born. In 1991, it was carefully screened by the world-famous Hotel Restaurant Group “Relais et Chateau”, becoming a participating restaurant and receiving high praise from international guests of honor.
Located in Fuji Hakone Izu National Park, Gora Onsen prospered as a resort area for political, business and literary figures in the Meiji and Taisho periods, and boasts rich spring quality. There are 3 hot springs in Gora flower bed, and 2 of them are private hot springs from the garden. The water quality is a weak alkaline simple hot spring, and the colorless and transparent hot spring is gentle to the skin, and is effective to recover from coldness and fatigue.
